About Us

Costaphonics is a pioneer in using Soundscape Ecology, digital distribution and ecotourism to enhance the way we experience the world around us.

How We Started

Over a decade ago, Costaphonics began with a mission rooted in Soundscape Ecology under the guidance of Dr Bernie Krause and Wild Sanctuary, focused on preserving and sharing Costa Rica's natural soundscapes. After joining, IMPULSARTE, a program by Auge-CR, we shifted our perspective from a conservation-first approach to a sustainable commercial model. We realized that sound isn't just something to be heard- it's a vibrational resource with untapped potential for for wellness digital innovation and conservation financing.

We designed a model that blends ecotourism, scientific advancement and digital distribution into a regenerative ecosystem. At Costaphonics, every captured soundscape becomes an opportunity to create immersive experiences, empower local property owners, fund conservation efforts and reshape the way the world interacts with sound. This isn't just about listening; its about feeling, innovating and regenerating through sound.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to ensure the perpetuity of Soundscape Ecology in Costa Rica and the world by providing highly curated experiences where we educate our guests on the importance of sound for maintaining ecological balance and for their own well-being. We blend in ecotourism, conservation and digital distribution.

For every location you visit, we record its unique natural soundtrack. These recordings are then registered so they can generate royalties for the properties involved. Helping bridge natural sound with the "music ecosystem".

Our vision extends beyond Costa Rica, aiming to position natural sound as a regenerative resource and a source for wellbeing and further position "Audio-Regenerative Ecotourism" worldwide.

Empowering Communities, Protecting Nature

Pioneering Community Support & Environmental Stewardship

At Costaphonics, we believe in the power of community engagement to drive meaningful change. Our initiatives are designed to empower local communities by providing them with the tools and resources needed to preserve their natural soundscapes. We also give back 25% commission for our ecotourism products and 50% of digital royalties back to Costa Rican forests.

By collaborating with local property owners and stakeholders, we ensure that the benefits of our projects are shared equitably, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in the preservation of their unique environments. This collaborative approach not only strengthens community ties but also enhances the sustainability of our conservation efforts.
